The 2017-18 Northern Ireland Boccia Team League finals took place in Ulster University Jordanstown, with an exciting round of games deciding the final places after a very competitive season.
New League Champions NIPF Saints, continued their tremendous form to clinch the league title undefeated winning all 16 of their games with some really intelligent and powerful Boccia. The Saints displayed a high standard of attacking play during the season putting up a number of high points totals during their games.
The final game of the day was a real nail biter with Ballyclare Beauties meeting Belfast Buccaneers in a tussle to decide 2nd & 3rd places. The Ballyclare girls showed great composure across the 6 ends to claim a narrow victory against the experienced Belfast side to clinch 2nd place while Belfast Buccaneers can be happy with another solid season and a very credible 3rd place.
Disability Sport NI Board Chairperson Michael McAteer MBE & CEO Kevin O'Neill, presented the League trophy and medals to the top 3 teams and complimented all teams in the league for the continued development of Boccia in Northern Ireland and the competitiveness of this season's League and the increased numbers of new players and teams taking part this season.
Thank you to League sponsors JT Inspires Trust, Disability Sport NI & Live Active NI Staff and all our volunteers for your continued support during the season.
