British Gymnastics in Northern Ireland awarded Disability Sport NI’s Inclusive Sport Award
Just before lockdown began, British Gymnastics in Northern Ireland was awarded Disability Sport NI’s Inclusive Sport Award in recognition of their commitment to actively including more people with disabilities in their sport. The award was presented at the British Gymnastics in Northern Ireland’s Awards Dinner to Mollie Davies, Area Manager for Northern Ireland back in March.
Speaking of the award, Disability Sport NI Performance Sport Manager Elaine Reid said,
“It was a great pleasure to present the Inclusive Sport Award to British Gymnastics in Northern Ireland. We have been impressed at the commitment of the organisation’s team of staff, officials and volunteers to support the inclusion of people with disabilities in the sport of gymnastics.
We look forward to continuing to support the inclusion work of the organisation, particularly through the development of a more inclusive workforce, a more inclusive competitor pathway and a coaching pathway.
“British Gymnastics in Northern Ireland is the eighth governing body of sport to receive the award.”
