Claire Taggart Claims Double Gold at Nymburk European Regional Open

Claire Taggart excelled at the 2019 Nymburk European Regional Open claiming Gold in both the BC2 Individual Championships and the BC1/2 Team Games.

This brings the recently crowned UK Champion’s, European medals to eight this year.

In a successful 2019, Claire has so far secured Gold and Silver at the European Regional Open in Zagreb and became the first person from Northern Ireland to medal at a European Open whilst securing her own first ever medal at a BISfed event. Claire then went on to double medal again at the Czech International Open, securing a Silver and Bronze and at the Sevilla European Regional Championships securing a Silver and Bronze.

In this crucial qualifying stage for the Paralympics, Claire still has the World Open ahead of her in October/November.
In 2016, Claire Taggart became the first ever Boccia athlete from Northern Ireland to compete in the Paralympic Games and she is determined to be at Tokyo 2020.
